This nice and easy fried rice recipe packs a so much flavour you'll be going back for more.
Ingredients
2 cups day-old Basmati rice (preferably refrigerated overnight)
1 cup grated carrots
1 cup diced green bell peppers
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons sesame seed oil
1 cup Spring onionsÂ
Instructions
Prepare the Rice:
If you haven't done so already, cook the Basmati rice and refrigerate it overnight. Cold, day-old rice works best for fried rice.
Heat the Wok or Pan:
Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large pan over medium-high heat.
Sauté Garlic:
Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until it becomes fragrant.Â
Add Vegetables:
Toss in grated carrots and diced green bell peppers. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.
Add Rice:
Add the cold, day-old Basmati rice to the wok. Break up any clumps and stir-fry with the vegetables. Ensure the rice is well-coated with the oil.
Season:
Pour in dark soy sauce, stir well to evenly distribute the sauce.Â
Add in The Golden One according to your spice preference stirring evenly into the rice mix.
Season with salt and white pepper:
Add the white pepper.
Taste the fried rice and add salt as needed. Remember that soy sauce already contains salt, so add salt cautiously.
Finish Cooking:
Add chopped spring onions for a burst of freshness.
Continue stir-frying for an additional 3-5 minutes until the rice is heated through and has a slightly crispy texture.
Enjoy!
